Emilie: Arnaud,
are there
other places to visit in Auvers-sur-Oise?
Arnaud: Yes indeed. Nearby, we can visit
the
Auberge
Ravoux, where Van Gogh lived his last 70 days
and painted 70 pieces. We can also visit the
Château d'Auvers,
Musée
Daubigny, and the
Musée de
l’Absinthe.
Emilie: I can’t wait! Arnaud, how often have
you been to Auvers?
Arnaud: I go every year actually, usually in June,
to the
Music Festival. You know the church installed
a state-of-the-art organ for this festival.
Emilie: I have always wanted to go…I hear
it’s great. And, the setting must be so beautiful.
To see the church today, as in the painting…to see
the clock tower.
Arnaud: Indeed, it is beautiful. Actually,
the last time I visited Auvers was for
the
Jazz Festival, which takes place at the handsome Château.
I saw a pianist playing there who is a member of a
trio called Prysm. Do you know Pierre de Bethmann?
Emilie:
Yes, I’ve seen him play! I
saw
"Prysm" live at the
Sunside Jazz Club in the 1st
arrondisment, near Les Halles. Wonderful! But,
believe it or not, at the moment, I listen to French
rap music. My daughter bought me an album by Rohff.
"La grande classe" is
the single I listen to every night over and over
again. |
